WHY 100% GRASS FED MILK?

WHY 100%
GRASS FED
MILK?

GOING AGAINST THE GRAIN.

100% GRASS FED AND 365 DAYS A YEAR.

There are a few reasons why we’re so passionate about our New Zealand 100% Grass Fed cows. Firstly, the clue is in the name – 100% Grass Fed.

You see, cows are meant to eat grass only.
Not corn, grains or other bulk foods used in other farms. A cows digestive system is designed to eat fresh, green grass and only relatively recently have humans begun to feed them corn, grain and other bulking foods. This affects not only the cow’s health, but also the quality of the milk.
So when it comes to producing a better quality milk we think it’s a no grainer.

Our cows do graze on lush, green New Zealand pastures 365 days a year, but more importantly (and just in case you hadn’t noticed yet), we think 100% Grass Fed is the ONLY way to go. So if you do see ‘grass fed 365 days a year’ on any other formulas you should know that it doesn’t mean they are 100% grass fed, it just means they feed on grass ‘and grain’ 365 days a year.
If it doesn’t say 100% Grass Fed it isn’t 100% Grass Fed.

THE STANDARD.

It’s only natural to want the best for your child. And we feel as passionate about what nutrition your child receives in its early years as you do.
After an extensive global search for the best infant formula we realised that none of them met the standard that we were looking for – so we created our own STANDARD.
A 100% Grass Fed Standard.

OUR 100% GRASS FED STANDARD IS INDEPENDENTLY CERTIFIED BY:

HEALTHY COW = HEALTHY MILK
A SIMPLE EQUATION.

HEALTHY COW = HEALTHY MILK A SIMPLE EQUATION.

Secondly, and as we just mentioned, 100% Grass Fed cows produce better quality milk. Upto 5x more CLA* which helps boost the immune system and helps regulate blood sugar levels.
Higher levels of Vitamin A to help fight infections and support growth & Vitamin E for healthy brain development and cognition.

*CLA or Conjugated Linoleic Acid is a naturally occurring acid present in dairy products like milk which (unlike industrial trans fatty acids) may be of great potential benefit to human health.

OMEGA 3 vs OMEGA 6.

IT’S ALL ABOUT THE BALANCE.

An ideal ratio of Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acids is essential for a healthy, growing body. 100% Grass Fed Milk is proven to have a better or more balanced ratio of omega 3 to Omega 6 fatty acids than grain fed cows milk.

OMG. IS THERE NOTHING OMEGA 3 ISN’T GOOD FOR?

Omega-3 fatty acids particularly are extremely important for brain development in babies as well as promoting a healthy cardiovascular system.
Known as ‘essential fats’ they can only be obtained through food or diet. They have also been shown to reduce inflammation, decrease elevated tryglyceride levels, stimulate visual development, promote bone health as well as help reduce the symptoms of asthma in early life.

SUPPORTING THE
IMMUNE SYSTEM.

OMEGA 6 IS ON YOUR SIDE.

These fats are also essential fats and are primarily used for energy. The most common omega-6 fat is linoleic acid, which can be beneficial to the immune system and in the right balance can help reduce inflammation.
In Fact, nearly half of the saturated fat in 100% grass fed milk is “medium chain” saturated fat, the kind that is predominant in coconut oil. Medium chain saturated fat has been widely associated with immune system benefits.

PROBIOTICS - HEALTHY BACTERIA IN DROVES.

About 6-7% of the saturated fat found in 100% grass fed milk is “short-chain” saturated fat and can function as a “probiotic” that supports the health of friendly bacteria in the intestine and along with the ‘medium chain’ saturated fat is more easily digested and so gentler on tummies.
